Crazy Quilt Class

This class has no pattern, just an idea in your head and a whole lot of scraps!! You will decide your style, size and craziness of your quilt. I as the instructor, will be here to laugh along with you as you go down the Crazy Quilt Rabbit Hole!!
Crazy quilts were popular from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, evolving from simple scrap-piecing into a fashionable, artistic trend driven by the late Victorian era's aesthetic and made widely accessible by the Industrial Revolution. Influenced by Japanese art and motifs introduced at the 1876 Centennial Exposition, they featured irregular shapes and rich materials like silk and velvet, embellished with extensive embroidery. The popularity was fueled by women's magazines, which published designs and sold kits, though the style was later adapted by those with more limited resources using sturdier fabrics.
We will be putting a modern twist on it by using our sewing machines fancy stitches OR be brave enough to try some of it by hand!!
